This car could be automatic...

Why it's grease lightning! Yup, you guessed it, this week we had a grease workshop! Not only did I walk in to what i thought was going to be a morning of body crippling class ,and was greated with a 3 hour grease workshop but a very pretty male dancer was introduced to us and would be taking the class.. Result!
So we started of by learning the 'born to hand jive'  dance which was so fast i literally tied my legs in a knot! After being detangled we got to roll on the floor for 20 minutes (not me and the hunky dance teacher unfortunately)but because this was one of the dance moves, yet another week where i can do the dance move, and they said this would be hard! Pfft. After being transferred back to the 1950s for the morning we were brought back to reality with another audition in the afternoon. I had to sing a song pre 1960s musical.. cue a very out of tune rendition of 'Adalaides lament' I got the key so wrong at one point that i thought the pianist was going to break the piano he was pressing down on the note so hard. ooops.. having bit of an off day! Now the best news is that today is Monday and i am still in my Pjs, watching crappy television and I even had some chocolate!! *gasp* We got a long weekend so i have no class today and its my birthday! BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER! Back to bootcamp tomorrow though..

When The Going Gets Tough..

..the tough most definietly gets going! I started the week on a real low, I was told I have shin splints! For those of you who don't know what shin splints are, they are AGONY! So after breaking the news to the elf about my broken shin he was not best pleased neither was 'The pixie' ( this is my ballet teacher, the name says everything), apparently it is my own fault for not keeping my weight forward.
We had to record a song in singing class yesterday and it went suprisingly well! I didnt forget my words and I didnt laugh, which was difficult when you are staring at yourself in a mirror. I had to sit out of tap today and I was heart broken! It is the one class where my feet do what they are told, my clumsyness can be disguised easily and my heavy elephant like feet are perfect for the job that needs doing!
So we finish on a jazz class, the class I hate the most but of course its the class that wont hurt my shin.. We spent an hour doing high kicks ( I say high but leg off the floor is a chore in everyday life for me), swing ball changes which is basically using up loads of space looking like you have no control of your legs, YEAH something I do naturally! Then to finish we did bodyrolls, now I was sure I had this one down. I have had loads of practice on nights out on the dance floor bodyrolling my way through 'sexyback' but no. I want as advanced as working my bodyrolls and my feet at the same time so it gave everyone a good laugh!
Now im off to go recite a monologue about how the person I love is dead... ah such lovely memories.

Survival Of The Bendiest..

I realise I missed out days 2,3,4 and 5 but now that I am a student I cannot afford wifi in my flat. I will now attempt to fit as much as i can in one blog without it getting dreadfully dull!
Day 2 was by far the best day of the week. We only had one dance lesson and we spent practically the whole time stretching which was fine until the dance teacher who shall now be known as 'The elf' (he is small and cute you see) decided to push my chest down to the ground while my legs where on the brink of being dislocated and my groin muscles becoming completely usless! Apparently though it was for my own good so I must forgive and foget.
Day 3 was the closest I have been to death and I still think death would have been the easier day. We had a 'body conditioning' class... more like a body crippling class! 1 hour and 15 minutes of NON STOP movement which included 100 sit ups and 60 odd burpees ( the exercise created by the devil.) We finished on a  2 minute hold in the plank position which according to the elf was a cool down! Now i lasted about 10 seconds becasue A. When in life will I need to hold a plank for 20 seconds and B. I kept slipping in other peoples sweat.
Day 4 was more ballet where i was told I had far too big a bum and my bun was too tight, must try and remember not to get those too things muddled up again!
Day 5 I spent sleeping at any opportunity I got. 4 hours of perfromance class in the afternoon is the most boring thing ever. You sit and watch people perform then hate yourself for not being anywhere near as good as them, then listen to them be aboslutely slated by the teachers, then you realise there is no hope and go cry in a corner while eating a stick of celery!
Well back to do it all again on Monday...

Day 1 At Bootcamp..

So today was the first offical day at bootcamp! Most would be beyond excited to polish of the tap shoes and warm the vocal chords but not me... not when you are up at 6 to catch a busy bus that costs more than all my kit put together!
We started the day with Ballet. Now for those of you who havn't seen me, I am more curvy than slender so needless to say the pink ballet tights and tight leaotard were not flattering!
'Tummys in girls, buts clenched and bend' cue the manly grunts and noise of hamstrings snapping in half ( they were both coming from only me.) After pointing like I have never pointed before we moved onto acting class. This was an hour and a half of walking round a room interviewing people about cheating, moving whales, giving birth to 12 babies and apparently this is a normal days questioning at bootcamp! Looks like i have catching up to do there aswell.
I tapped in the afternoon and was told I had arms like a dinosaur, I jazzed and was told I had a hunched bank and I stretched and was told I had 2 months to be in the splits! So you can image a dinasaur with a hunch back, stuck half way in the splits... this was day 1 at bootcamp!
